Macmillan day big success
The wonderful work done by the Macmillan Cancer Support
Charity will be familiar to one in three families in the Sheffield S6
area, and this is why a group of people in Bradfield have been
fundraising for the last eight years.
Local volunteers have been holding coffee mornings along
with evening auctions which have raised around £4,000 per year
and have gone from strength to strength. The coffee morning at
Bradfield Village Hall on Saturday 13 September this year was a
fun, family event and raised over £2,400.
Their next big fund
raiser was a Harvest Auction at the Plough Inn, New Rd. Low
Bradfield on Sunday 5 October when popular fundraising
auctioneer Stephen Helliwell presided over the bidding. There
were some wonderful donations on offer ranging from £200
worth of JDM driving lessons to a £10 Our Cow Molly ice cream
voucher and plenty of local people donating harvest goods. This
event raised over £1,600.
The team wish to thank all the family and friends who helped
out at the events and all the local business donators. A very
special thank you to auctioneer Stephen Helliwell and Mandy and
Chris at the Plough Inn for their premises.
